Dr. Karyl Ropko

Dr. Karyl Ropko started her career by working in a few small animal hospitals, utilizing her skills as a veterinary technician for more than 15 years.  After returning to school and graduating from Michigan State's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990, she went right to work at the Cat & Dog Hospital, taking over for a retiring veterinarian.  The first few years were spent establishing and building long-term relationships with her patients and their owners.  Over the last 8 years, the hospital has grown, offering longer hours and an increasingly higher level of pet care.  Currently, Dr. Ropko keeps busy with her responsibilities as owner/manager, but finds it takes a backseat to her love for practicing quality medicine and surgery.  Her special interests include feline medicine and soft tissue surgery.  You can see Dr. Ropko on WZZM TV 13  "Pet Peeves" every week during the Thursday noon-time news broadcast.

Dr. Roe Froman

Dr. Roe Froman had already attained a position as Director of Education at the John Ball Zoo when she decided to go back to school to pursue veterinary medicine.  A 1990 graduate of Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Froman spent the next 5 years at work in a small animal hospital honing her skills and continuing her interests in exotic animal medicine.  During that time, she worked on a weekly basis with the John Ball Zoo, as well as establishing her own reputation as a qualified exotics practitioner.  Dr. Froman came to the Northeast Cat & Dog Hospital in 1995, and has since brought a well-rounded dimension to our practice of veterinary medicine.  An enthusiastic client/patient advocate, she does her best to preserve the special bond between people and their pets.  Her outside interests center around her Clumber Spaniels, including titles earned in conformation, obedience, and tracking competitions.   You can see both of her dogs, Georgia and Duncan, on the Critter Clumber Spaniel site.
